Yamanobe-no-Michi Trail

This trail is my favorite area. You can dip yourself in spiritual atmospheres with visiting Miwa Shrine which is oldest shrine in Japan. The trail from Miwa Shrine to Isonokami Jingu Shrine gives you a special experience which is different from visiting busy tourist site. There are many attractive site such as ancient tombs, beautiful natural landscape, temples and shrines along the way. This trail shows how Japanese religion, Shintoism started and people have been worshiping the mountain as a god. This is the beginning.
